Game progression is in done through randomized levels which is not neccessarily a bad thing.. You know those horrible force stealth missions put in other games; the type of thing that's so worn out even the IGN writers pick on it? Imagine an entire game of it.. Thoroughly enjoyable but challenging take on a tired genre. The controls are a pain on keyboard so I would definitely recommend a controller.. This game is great fun! Played it since beta and it has really become a polished joy of a game. If I was to categorize it, I would say it's a top-down stealth survival roguelite. And, it really raises the bar in the any of those categories. It seems to take the best of each of those genres and blend it sucessfully into an intensely stressful ninja-romp through a post apocolyptic nightmare. It's not an easy game, but if you've played anything else that Puppy Games has made, you shouldn't expect it to be, and that's part of the fun. It's also quite a departure from their arcade style games. While it feels deeper in many ways, it still retains the quirky and simplisticly-well-designed elements and controls that has made their earlier games some of my favorites. As always the graphics and sound design are top notch too. You can tell a lot of heart and soul has gone into this game, I highly reccomend it: 10/10! P.S. The intro is great, really sets the mood & I really think the wheely bin and binocular view was a neat touch!. Going to get alot of play on this one. love the atmosphere and systems.. a simple but super fun top down zombie shooter and the whole one life makes it challenging but still fun to play. Can be difficult, but very fun little run and gun, and as someone else said, Some parts of the levels are pretty similar, but it when it promises random generation each time, it does. i havent played a single life where everything was identical. Sometimes there will be 5 zombies in a room, other times it will be empty. However setpieces are certain to be consistent, such as a new enemy. then it goes back to normal generation (but the surroundings are different each time.). Had no tech issues, Well made, graphics for me were hard to get in to, buut interesting. WIll probably be playing it a lot more. Certainy worth a look as I think it's a very under-rated gem.. Very hard game, but satisfying crafting, consumables and environmental interactions makes each enemy encounter feel different. You won't have much ammo to be gunning and running enemies like traditional survival zombie games (and melee weapons break after a while), so you mostly have to be stealthy and/or ambush every mob or bait them to kill themselves with traps.My only gripe is minor and that is sometimes enemies who are incapacitated end up blocking you from getting loot.
